Lately, I have been considering joining a gym. That alone deserves a round of applause. I do not work out. I always say if I got as much exercise as my dog I would look like Tim Tebow. Seriously, Bailey is ripped. All jokes aside I need to start working out. I have no more excuses and my arm flab is getting out of control. Today I toured the local YMCA. Which is a big step in my world. There were so many people there. Is it asking too much to join a gym with zero members?? Honestly, I have no clue how to work out which is why I would like no one to be there to watch me make a fool out of myself. To be continued...
Look for a personal trainer! A friend found one who is new in the field so hes at a great rate and is really helpful and being patient and showing her how to do things correctly!
ReplyDeleteI hate working out in front of others too. I don't mind the cardio, but I hate the idea of people watching me lift weights.
ReplyDeleteYay for you!! If you join the Y check our their pricing for a trainer. It assures you'll keep your appointments and you can have the 1 on 1 sessions that will keep you from focusing on the crowd around you. Bonus: a gym is a great place to meet friends! When we moved to Charlotte I met some of my greatest girlfriends through classes at my gym.
ReplyDeleteGet it, girl. The Y usually has great group exercise classes, which is a good way to start getting into the groove of working out. Personal trainers are always great too. Don't be just a slave to cardio... you need to work those muscles to burn fat, even if it's just body weight exercises like squats, lunges, push ups, pull ups, sit ups, etc. xo
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at joining the Y near our house. My friend goes there and loves their classes. Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteGo to classes! They are fun and help the time go by :)
